Most coffee lovers want to get started with an espresso. Nowadays espresso can be made at home by having an espresso machine. Most people can make espresso at home. Buying your cappuccino, or mocha at a local coffee bar is more expensive. To bear this expenditure, you can make espresso at your home in many simple ways.

What is espresso?

Espresso is a concentrated form of coffee served in small shots and it is a base for many of the coffee drinks. It is made from the same beans as coffee but it is stronger, thicker and higher in caffeine. Espresso has all of the same flavors of coffee but amplified—bitter, lightly sweet, acidic, toasty.

Here are 5 different ways to make espresso coffee

 Aero Press:

This is one of the significant methods to prepare espresso if you can’t afford an espresso machine. Unlike regular coffee espresso is completely made of pressure. Aero press is ideal to make an espresso. All you need is an Aero press, dedicated coffee grounds, hot water. The following are the step to make espresso from an aero press

  • Place your aero press. Place a filter inside the drain cap
  • Try to place more than one filter so that flow of the water can be slowed
  • Add 2 spoons of fine coffee grounds. Make sure the grounds are consistent. Place the grounds evenly in the filter
  • Boil your water and after reaching around 200 degrees.  Wait for 30 seconds
  • Pour the boiled water and stir with coffee
  • Press down the plunge. As this is espresso, press the plunge as hard as you can (espresso depends on pressure)
  • Take out the espresso in to your cup and enjoy

Stovetop espresso maker:

The best and simplest way to make an espresso. They are cheaper than espresso machines and make a satisfying cup of espresso at your home. You don’t need to depend on an electric source or any other outside factors to make a cup of espresso. Espresso usually is brewed under at least 9 bar(130PSI) pressure. Espresso maker offer 9 bar  pressure. All you need is a stove top espresso maker, hot water, coffee grounds. The following are the steps to make espresso from an espresso maker.

  • Espresso maker mainly has three parts bottom chamber for water. Funnel to hold coffee grounds and top chamber that holds espresso once brewed.
  • Preheat the bottom chamber and fill the bottom chamber with cold water
  • Add coffee grounds in to the funnel. Make sure the coffee grounds are finer.
  • Place the top chamber on the funnel and bottom chamber. Twist the top chamber, make sure it is secured
  • Place the espresso maker on the stove and turn on the heat.
  • During this process steam generated due to the heat allows the water to go up to the coffee grounds. This makes water mixed with grounds and moves to the top chamber
  • When brewing is finished take out the maker. Brewed espresso will be on the top chamber. Serve and enjoy

  • Add coffee grounds in French press
  • Add a splash of water to your grounds and wait for 30 seconds
